Plant a Bloomer is new range of eco-friendly gifts — which can be planted!

‘Bloomers’ are made from 100% recycled paper, embedded with natural materials such as flowers, ferns, mica flakes — and seeds. When ‘planted’ the paper breaks down into the soil and the seeds germinate — to grow wild flowers, clover or Christmas trees!

The range includes Little Bloomers — mini plantable gifts and Pop-up Bloomers — plantable ‘pop-up’ decorations.

ECO-FRIENDLY - Plantable paper is made from 100% recycled post consumer waste. The colours are obtained from recycled materials – no dyes are used. The paper is embedded with ferns, flowers, seeds and natural mica mineral flakes. Packaging is made from FSC certified board.

Little Bloomers mini-gifts each contain a plantable paper shape, presented in a square ribbon tied pocket. There are three designs for the festive season: Plant a Christmas Tree in bronze, Plant a Star in silver and Plant a Heart in gold. All designs contain sparkling gold or silver mica flakes and wildflower seeds. Germinate indoors during the winter and place outside in the spring to help the honey bees. Supplied with planting instructions.

POP-UP BLOOMERS — decorate and grow

“Decorations are so often used for just one day, and then either discarded or kept away and forgotten,” says Rani Deshpande, creator of the Plant a Bloomer range. Instead why shouldn’t decorations have a second function? Her aim of creating multi functional decorations led to the development of a new product, Pop-up Bloomers.

Pop-up Bloomers are plantable paper shapes which fold to ‘pop-up’ a beautiful sculptural decoration. Decorate your tree with Pop-up Bloomers — and afterwards plant them to grow your own Christmas tree! The paper contains conifer tree seeds.

Each Pop-up Bloomers Christmas set contains 3 terracotta gold baubles and 3 silver white stars, all embedded with sparkling mica flakes and conifer seeds. Supplied in a ribbon-tied box. Includes planting and assembly instructions.

Rani Deshpande — creator of the range

Rani Deshpande established her design studio in 2004, having spotted a gap in the market for contemporary stationery and gift products. Since then, her distinctive creations have won her many satisfied clients and she has been commissioned to create designs for several prestigious companies.

In 2009 Rani launched a new collection of eco-friendly plantable gifts: Little Bloomers. The range proved an instant hit and was shortlisted for Gift of the Year in the eco-friendly category. Deco Bloomers and Pop-up Bloomers are the latest additions to the Plant a Bloomer range.

Rani’s work is informed by her passion for colour, texture and style. She takes pleasure in working with everyday materials to create unique products that delight and surprise.
